During your first office visit, you should be able to determine whether the dentist is right for you. During your appointment, consider scheduling convenience, office location and cleanliness and open communication about procedures and cost.

Your teeth may feel fine, but it’s still important to schedule regular appointments with Dr. Luzzi and our team of dental experts because problems can exist without you knowing.

Maintaining your oral health between visits is very important. This includes brushing with fluoride toothpaste and flossing your teeth at least two times a day (including your tongue!), avoiding tobacco and foods with a lot of sugar and scheduling routine check ups at least every six months.

The Canadian Dental Association encourages a dental assessment of infants within six months of the eruption of the first tooth or by one year of age.

Children, teens and adults alike should see the dentist for a regular check up at least once every six months. Patients who are at a greater risk for oral cancer or gum disease may be required to see the dentist more than just twice a year.
